Madonna goes Cli-Fi: The Pop Music Industry Awakens to Global Warming Impact Events in the Distant Future

Who said the pop music culturtariat is ignoring man-made global warming and future climate change impact events in songs and lyrics? No way!

Madonna has gone over the ''cli-fi'' bridge in a power epic track of angst-ridden and forbidden  dystopian unCalifornia Dreamin' that had even Sirius radio shock jock Howard Stern wetting his pants this year when he interviewed the ''I wish again I was in Michigan'' material girl in a one-hour studio chitchat that went over the tip-top.

And when he played that song from her ''Rebel Heart'' album during the heated discussion, he gingerly asked La Madonna what it was all about.

Well, of course, Madge didn't say the controversial cli-fi word on the air but it was there in the lyrics. Listen. Watch. Read the lyrics. This song has cli-fi written all over it! The video is explosive. The lyrics are haunted and ...haunting.

When Howard asked Madonna what the song was about, she didn't miss a beat and insisted in sisterly undertones of unmistakable Catholic climageddon that not only are we ''doomed, doomed'' come the Final Countdown to the Crispy Climapocalypse but that the song is about ...yes... the end of the world. Cli-fi sung hungrily. Cli-fi hung summarily. Cli-fi pop-cultured hermetically. Cli-Madonna.

This is pop history with cli-fi overtones.

The pop music industry post COP21 will never look at futuristic global warming impact events again  in the same way. Madonna has moved the needle. She has seen the future and it ain't no pretty picture.

The music industry has awoken!

THE LYRICS:

Maybe it was all too much
Too much for a man to take
Everything's bound to break
Sooner or later, sooner or later

You're all that I can trust
Facing the darkest days
Everyone ran away
But we're gonna stay here, we're gonna stay here

Ahhhhhh, Ahhhhh
I know you're scared tonight
Ahhhhhh, Ahhhhh
I'll never leave your side

When it all falls, when it all falls down
I'll be your fire when the lights go out
When there's no one, no one else around
We'll be two souls in a ghost town

When the world gets cold
I'll be your cover
Let's just hold
Onto each other
When it all falls, when it all falls down
We'll be two souls in a ghost town

Tell me how we got this far
Every man for himself
Everything's gone to hell
We gotta stay strong, we're gonna hold on

This world has turned to dust
All we've got left is love
Might as well start with us
Singing a new song, something to build on

Ahhhhhh, Ahhhhh
I know you're scared tonight
Ahhhhhh, Ahhhhh
I'll never leave your side

When it all falls, when it all falls down
I'll be your fire when the lights go out
When there's no one, no one else around
We'll be two souls in a ghost town

When the world gets cold
I'll be your cover
Let's just hold
Onto each other
When it all falls, when it all falls down
We'll be two souls in a ghost town

I know we're alright
Cause we'll never be alone
In this mad mad, in this mad mad world
Even with no light
We're gonna shine like gold
In this mad mad, in this mad mad world

When it all falls, when it all falls down
I'll be your fire when the lights go out
When there's no one, no one else around
We'll be two souls in a ghost town

When it all falls, when it all falls down
I'll be your fire when the lights go out
When there's no one, no one else around
We'll be two souls in a ghost town

When the world gets cold
I'll be your cover
Let's just hold
Onto each other
When it all falls, when it all falls down
We'll be two souls in a ghost town
When it all falls, when it all falls down
We'll be two souls in a ghost town
