California art show highlights cli-fi authors February through March

The “Burning Ice” exhibition is on now at De Anza College’s Euphrat Museum of Art from and lasts until March 17.

“Burning Ice” is organized in conjunction with Silicon Valley Reads, a county-wide organization devoted to engaging public through reading. Each year, the organization features two cli-fi books that bring awareness to one important issue.

This year’s theme is “Chance of Rain: The impact of cli-fi in our lives.”

The books chosen are two cli-fi dystopian novels, “Memory of Water” by Emmi Itäranta and “Sherwood Nation” by Ben Parzybok. Both Itäranta and Parzybok will attend the artist reception in Euphrat on Feb. 17.

See our interview with Finnish author Emmi Itaranta, who lives in the UK, is married to a Spanish man and is in the USA for two month guest fellowship in California, where the drought looms big.
