Dan Bloom on "reframing" the climate debate with ''cli-fi'' novels and movies: "And you can quote me on this!"
"The COP21 climate ''accord'' (square quotes mine for emphasis here) did not change the need for cli-fi novels and movies to enter the mainstream channels of the culture,"Bloom says.
''The rise of cli-fi novels and movies are helping to 'reframe' the climate change narrative at the highest levels of culture and art,”he says. “The so-called promises and international 'agreements' made at the Paris COP21 meeting not only vindicate this new literary genre's rise but they light a fire under it as well. There are novels to write now, important novels, and movies to be made, important movies."
