Knowing that emergency services personnel are often understaffed and under-budgeted, they undertook the unique approach to disaster preparedness by adapting wilderness skills into an urban environment and began teaching citizens techniques that utilize resources in their immediate environment. By “creating awareness without precipitating panic”, they teach communities how to “take care of themselves.” Business and Corporate group training is also available. The program is entertaining and educational as Laura Berry, CERT member and Sergeant for the San Diego Animal Rescue Reserve said, " I learned a lot and could have sat another 2 hours learning, listening, and laughing!"

As our economy slips into chaos, it makes sense to once again become self-sufficient and live happily with less. When you realize that what you fear losing the most is NOT what you need, the future seems a bit brighter. Check out "Learning to Live with Less."

If you are "Ready to get Ready" but don't have the time or even know where to begin, Susan and Tom will work with you to design and implement your plan. Consultation costs vary.

Testimonials

Recommendation from Mid City CERT

Susan and Tom "survived" the Cedar Fire in 2003

In 2006, after numerous requests to provide written information on the subject, Tom and Susan published their disaster survival handbook. These books are available for a discounted price at all the trainings and presentations and are also available from Amazon.

A Disaster Survival HandbookAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-949421001644904537.post-41802403410702417072010-05-20T08:07:04.656-07:002010-05-20T08:07:04.656-07:00Hello friends,

For those who are interested in survival, I thought I would share an e-mail from a reader who leads disaster preparedness trainings and authored a disaster survival handbook.

"$50,000 may leave a few people out!" wrote Susan Conniry of readyornotsurvival.com. "My husband and I have been teaching Disaster preparedness/disaster survival here in San Diego since 1997... Please consider interviewing us or attending one of our seminars and reporting to the rest of San Diego that if they can't afford to join Vivos they can at least prepare and survive by learning simple techniques - you can help us save people's lives by sharing this information."

I visited their website and was intrigued by the description of how Susan and her husband kept their house safe during the Cedar Fire in 2003. We were featured in one episode and she saw it and called me for an interview after she saw my website (www.survivalcondo.com).

We have been on ABC Nightline and several other regional shows. We just concluded a multi-day shoot with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation who is doing a new documentary on 2012.

As for the Polar Cities, I do not disagree; I'm just more concerned about the short-term situation. I have a wife and 5-year old son. I will sleep better when my project is complete and we have a "safe harbor" if it is needed.

Thanks,
Larry HallAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-949421001644904537.post-12971706260703187772010-05-20T04:42:59.315-07:002010-05-20T04:42:59.315-07:00Connections –
